A 28-Year-Old Dubai Mountaineer Is All Set To Take On Mount Everest For A BRILLIANT Cause
Dubai resident, mountaineer, brand ambassador for The Sustainable City and an all-around boss woman, Dolores Al Shelleh, has set her sights and is ready to take on the highest summit in the world in the month of April.
The 28-year-old Jordanian national will climb the indomitable 29,000ft of Mount Everest in an effort to raise awareness for a cause that’s closest to her heart- gender inequality.
Dolores has already achieved a historic accomplishment of being the first Arab woman to scale Mount Manaslu, world’s 8th highest peak, located in the Himalayas
Did you know- Mt. Manaslu is the world’s fourth most dangerous mountain, which has a fatality rate of 15%.
Her GOAL is to climb the highest peaks of the world in a bid to increase awareness environmental issues and gender equality
Back when I was on Mount Elbrus, picking up the Plastic thrown by other climbers on the way down. Throwing waste around has a huge negative environmental impact, and doing so will never help reduce the climate change.

She is expected to reach Tibet at the start of April to begin her preparation for the most important summit of her life… that she will scale in May
Will keep dreaming big, and satisfaction will never be one of those dreams. #doloresshelleh #دولورس_الشلة #Everest2019 pic.twitter.com/q4oiE5X6Gf

Every year holds its special moments, the good to make us happy & the bad to make us stronger. It is a big year for me, where I will aim to hopefully summit mount Everest, and I hope for each one of you to summit your own goals and enjoy the journey as it goes pic.twitter.com/Bs9GZ8RoGM— Dolores Al Shelleh (@Doloresshelleh) December 31, 2018
“As an Arab woman in my 20s, gender equality is an important issue to me. I am doing this because I want to inspire women to achieve new heights and follow their dreams and goals
I’ll be speaking to women in the villages about how life is for them and what has changed over the years. It is important to me to support and empower women everywhere,” she told The National in an interview.
Being surrounded with clean air, thick green trees, & crystal clear rivers, I realize how much refreshment & calmness nature brings to me. Nature is not a place to visit nature is our home. To appreciate it, we must first connect with it #ClimateAction pic.twitter.com/R5CU57HES8
