Some Dubai Schools Will End Early On Monday For The Funeral Of Queen Elizabeth II

On September 8, 2022, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away at her estate house, Balmoral Castle, in Scotland

The longest reigning monarch in British history with 70 years and 214 days spent as Queen, Her Majesty left an indelible legacy behind.

The world collectively mourned the demise of the British monarch who was Queen for more than three human generations.

Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest on Monday, 19 September 2022 at 2 pm UAE time.

UAE leaders paid tribute to the late Queen and flags were flown at half-mast across the country to mourn the loss of the monarch

With the approval of the KHDA, some British schools will end early on Monday, some will hold a two minute silence, while some will live-stream the televised service on campus. Flags in schools were also lowered to half-mast and many arranged assemblies to mark the death of the Queen. 

This initiative will allow the school community of students and staff to mourn, pay their respects and watch history in the making.
