Dubai has many local and international schools.
Many of them boast huge campuses and great facilities for the students, but are you curious to see what a school in Dubai was like years ago?
This is it…
Did You Know? The first school in #Dubai was built in 1912 by Ahmed bin Dalmouk and was called Al Ahmadiya #School. pic.twitter.com/FvUqDD4D4c

The school, located in Al Ras area of Deira, was founded in 1912 by the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Dalmouk who was a prominent pearl merchant. Scientists and scholars from neighbouring Arab countries taught at the school, but classes were held there only until 1958.
In 1994 it was converted into a historical museum. Visitors can have a tour free of charge from Saturday to Thursday from 8am to 7.30pm and from 2.30pm to 7.30pm on Fridays. Learn more here.
