After rescuing four Arabs from the Burj Al Arab hotel’s beach, Dubai Police have warned beachgoers to remain cautious. The police said that the four friends had gone to the beach to swim and enjoy the weather, but the day went sour when a strong tide began to pull them out to sea.
Dubai Maritime Rescue Department sent out a rescue team which were successful in retrieving the men and proceeded to take them to the hospital for treatment. This warning comes after two separate incidents involving two Sri Lankans and one Indian who drowned on the beach.
Dubai Police have warned people to avoid swimming in the sea when a lifeguard is not present, and especially at night. The Dubai Police have said that exposure to strong tides occur between 300 to 500 meters into the sea and that swimmers should not venture further than this in order to stay safe.
