Gone are the days you could rock up and ask for a window, aisle or emergency seat and (if you were early) the luxury was free.

Emirates have now introduced fees for seat selection for preferred seats, an additional cost which will be added on to economy fares and is separate to advanced seat charges which were introduced in October. 

This option for seat preferences came into effect on August 20th.

Different seats have different prices

If you wish, you will have the option to choose either emergency seats, a twin seat, or extra legroom seats and they will cost in the region of AED 55 and AED 400 according to Gulf Business.
