If you’ve ever been hacked, you’ll know that you experience total panic and feel as though your privacy has been violated. But apparently, the threat on our devices hits a little closer to home than many of us realized…

A new research from Kaspersky Lab found that 79 per cent of people surveyed in the UAE believe that couples should have private space, both on and offline.

But.. 36 per cent of internet users surveyed in the UAE admitted to spying on their partners online.

The things people hide

The report said that these were the top issues that people hid from their partners:

  1. The content of messages they send to other people
  2. How they spend their money
  3. Some of their personal files and websites they have visited

Interestingly, 45 per cent of the people who admitted to spying on their parters online described their relationships as unstable or future together uncertain.
