Women In Dubai Have Started A Facebook Group To Catch Shady Cheaters

Dating in Dubai is a mixed bag.

Back in 2020, we asked our audience about finding love in Dubai, and some of the love stories you shared were truly gorgeous.

On the other hand, however, Dubai has a busy dating app scene, mixed with a transient community made up of some who are unwilling to settle into a relationship, and many female-focused Facebook groups will tell you that story. They’ll tell you finding love in Dubai is tricky and they can share stories of encountering cheaters on their dating journey.

Facebook groups are the backbone of this community – truly! There are private groups where people can openly share their experiences. In many cases they are strictly monitored by admin to allow for this privacy and transparency and one in a particular case, a new group has been c reated to help women figure out if the man in their life is a cheat.

The new Facebook group aims to support women with background checks and to end cheating

The bio of the groupreads:

‘Tired of cheating men and their shady behavior – my sisters in Dubai please do a background check before going on a date
To know what you’re getting yourself into.
Anyone sharing information outside the group will be immediately removed’
The idea from the group sprung from a woman who was on a date with a guy, only to realise his GIRLFRIEND walked into the restaurant with friends.
The Facebook post about this circle of events lead to over 100 comments with other women sharing similar stories. Shocking dating dramas detailing love stories-turned-sour when the women realised their man was in a relationship, or worse, he was married.
Women wrote comments in solidarity, offering tips to help prove whether the man is single or in a relationship and eventually this background check Facebook group was formed.

‘Whose guy is it anyways?’ is a private group

Where women can share concerns (and maybe pics) of the men they’re seeing. It’s like a support group background check, to determine whether the person they’re seeing is in a committed relationship.
