Under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, The President of the UAE and The Ruler Of Abu Dhabi, 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza will be flown to the UAE for medical treatment.

This is an expansion to Sheikh Mohamed’s earlier directive of hosting 1,000 sick and injured Palestinian children as well as their families.

Cancer patients of all ages from the war-torn Gaza Strip will get all the necessary medical treatments from hospitals across the country.

The first plane arrived at Abu Dhabi airport yesterday and women and children were transported to local hospitals immediately upon arrival

The initiative comes as part of the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to help alleviate the suffering of Palestinians amid Israeli bombardment.

Additionally, the UAE has condemned the Israeli bombing of 2 schools in Gaza, which were used as shelters

Al Fakhoura School, run by UNRWA, and Tal Al-Zaatar School, were targeted and bombed, claiming the lives of 300 or more. Both were used as shelters. According to the government media office in Gaza, 260 schools have been targeted, 64 of which are unfit to be used as shelters.

The death toll has risen to 12,300.
