They’ve renamed a whopping 28 neighborhoods!

Dubai’s Land Department has officially renamed the neighborhood along Sheikh Zayed Road to Burj Khalifa, in honor of the world’s tallest tower at 830 meters. This is the most significant name change among the 28 areas listed by the Dubai Land Department. The Sheikh Zayed Road stretch in Dubai is home to various buildings, including apartments, offices, hotel apartments, and rooms.

The Dubai Land Department has rebranded a number of areas, changing Motor City to Al Hebiah First, Ranches to Wadi Al Asafa 6, Sports City to Al Hebiah Fourth, and Al Quoz 2 to Ghadeer Al Tair.

The exact timing and reasons behind the name changes by the Dubai Land Department are currently unclear

The recent neighborhood name changes leave us guessing about the when and why. On a brighter note, Dubai has rolled out a fresh way to name roads! In the first round, streets in Al Khawaneej 2 got names inspired by local trees and flowers. So, now we have Al Ghaf Street, paying homage to a famous tree, and other cool names like Al Sidr, Basil, Al Faggy, Al Samar, and Al Sharish.
