Is it a movie shoot, or is it a Bollywood celebrity? NO! It’s – FITNESS FLASHMOB to announce the start of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
Fitbit, now a part of Google family, is back as the Official Health and Wellness Partner for the sixth edition of Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2022, which is set to include a host of physical events, sports, and health and wellness activities that will take place across the city and starts this weekend from 29 October and lasts till 27 November 2022.
For the fourth consecutive year, Fitbit is calling on residents and visitors of Dubai to take part in DFC by dedicating 30 minutes daily to their health and wellbeing through DFC’s various challenges and activities. To bring in the fun and energy, Fitbit organized a ‘Fitness Flash Mob’ at City Centre Deira – right in the heart of Dubai. The specially curated ‘Fitness Flash Mob was organized yesterday in association with DANS ME – a Dubai based multi-purpose dance school that teaches established dance forms and dance for fitness purposes, included a variety of difference dance and fitness routines such as HIIT, zumba, african dances, aerobics and power bhangra. The interactive and energetic dance routine called on over a 100 dancers from many different nationalities and also included people of determination, who all came together to encourage fellow mall-goers to join in and kickstart their health and wellness journeys together. The dancers were also sporting the newly launched Fitbit Inspire 3 fitness tracker, and have been using the wearable to track their fitness activity.
Fitbit will also bring back its Climb Together Challenge at the Kite Beach Fitness Village. A popular feature at last year’s DFC, 1,219 participants climbed 201,265 stairs or 28,780 meters vertical height, equivalent to 3.25 times the height of earth’s highest mountain – Mount Everest, standing at the certified elevation of 8,848.86 meters above sea level. The unique Fitbit activity and challenges are set to offer fun and engaging ways for residents to achieve their daily 30-minute activity goal this DFC.
Through our partnership with DFC this year, we are committed to encouraging our fellow residents to imbibe the habit of incorporating a 30 minute workout into their daily routine. We are also committed to showing our residents that workouts can be fun, when you find the right one for you. This year we are also introducing a multi-level fitness area at the Kite Beach Fitness Village where each floor will be dedicated to different styles of fitness including the popular Fitbit Rebounder, so that we can help people find the workout that is right for them.
