There are many items that should not be left in vehicles as they can get damaged from the heat or even cause damage themselves. Some of those items include lighters, cosmetics, canned food, aerosol spray, glasses, medication, batteries and water bottles.

Speaking of water bottles, residents noticed that they haven’t been surviving the heat when left in cars overnight!

You might be thinking reusable bottles have really high melting points and that’s true… but it depends on the material!

In this situation where a resident left the bottle in the car overnight, many pointed out in the comments that it looks cheaply made. This particular bottle was made of low-quality material and cannot withstand high temperatures like most reusable water bottles. This one was purchased from Day To Day, a Dirham shop where items are typically more price affordable.

It might not necessarily be made from plastic at all because plastic typically has high a melting point, especially the ones used in bottles. Some can withstand boiling water.

Now, these bottles that were melting from the sun are sold for a very low cost and made from unknown materials. The bottle cost AED10 from Day To Day and while it could’ve been leak-proof and very sturdy, it simply is made from materials that cannot take the heat.
