Dubai Is Stepping Up To Support Young Couples Tying the Knot!

Dubai is playing matchmaker with a golden touch, going beyond its title as the city of gold to become the city of “I do’s.” Fueled by marriage support hotter than the desert sun, Dubai is turning into the ultimate wingman for young couples eager to swap singlehood for a lifetime of happiness!

…and how may you ask?

Dubai’s government is rolling out the Dubai Wedding Program, a fresh initiative from the Community Development Authority (CDA), designed to boost Emirati weddings. The program’s goal is to motivate young Emiratis to tie the knot, enhancing family stability and overall quality of life.

The Dubai Wedding Program is all about making Emirati weddings easier on the wallet. By covering things like marriage planning services and event hall expenses in places such as Al Barsha, Al Lisaili, Hatta, and Al Twar, the program aims to reduce financial burdens. Plus, it throws in extra support like family counseling, marriage planning assistance, family management guidance, and financial advice for the newlyweds.

Hessa Buhumaid, the Director General of the CDA, highlighted that the program’s immediate goal is to provide financial and social support to encourage young people to marry, with the broader aim of increasing the number of stable Emirati families in society.

But we aspire for the program to also contribute to creating a positive model for wedding celebrations and changing stereotypical ideas related to exaggerated celebrations,” she added. “This will help a larger segment of young men and women to marry at an early age, which will contribute to increasing the number of Emirati families in society.

The program is a part of the broader Dubai Social Agenda 33, which is valued at a substantial AED 208 billion

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, kicked off the program with a focus on projects for 2024, all centered around the theme ‘Family: The Foundation of Our Nation’. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted, “Our ultimate goal is to enhance the quality of citizens’ lives for a brighter future,” emphasizing the crucial role of family in national development.”
