Seeing as the new academic year has kicked off, the Ministry of Education has adopted a new code of conduct for education professionals
It represents the general framework targeting all government and private workers in the educational sector. It also includes a set of principles and ethical values that everyone must follow.
Some of the highlights that the code of conduct entails:
- Education professionals should commit to protecting children from bullying, neglect, and exploitation.
- Educational professionals should avoid disclosing confidential information about students and their families.
- Education professionals must be aware of Emirati culture and traditions and highly regard the values of Islam.
- Education professionals must refrain from smoking in the workplace and using unauthorized substances.
- Education professionals must not discuss socially unacceptable behaviors like gender identity and homosexuality.
