Here’s How To Navigate A Busy DXB Airport As The Summer Holidays Come To An End

Farah Makhlouf

The UAE summer holidays are coming to an end very very soon and that means it’s going to be busy at local airports!

At least 3.3 million travellers are expected to travel through Dubai International Airport (DXB) over the next 13 days

The average daily traffic is expected to reach 258,000 travellers. August 26 and 27 are expected to be the busiest with culminated traffic of over half a million travellers.

DXB issues an advisory for returning travellers to help speed things along

  1. Travellers between the ages of 4 and 12 can use dedicated passport control counters to independently stamp their passports upon arrival at Terminals 1, 2, and 3.
  2. For those travelling with families, travellers over the age of 12 can use Smart Gates to speed up the passport control process.
  3. If possible, use the Dubai Metro, which has stations at DXB Terminals 1 and 3 as the road could get busy during peak times. Other transportation choices are also available such as Uber, Careem, RTA Taxi, or rent a car.
  4. Those picking up guests should use DXB’s designated car parks or valet services. Access to the Arrivals’ forecourts in Terminals 1 and 3 is limited to public transport and other authorised airport vehicles only.
