New Visa Overstay Fines Announced in the UAE

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security Standardises Visa Overstay Fines at AED50 per Day

The Value of the visa overstay fine has been raised from 25AED to 50AED per day for resident visas, according to a spokesperson from the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, via The National.

As for tourist and visitor visas, the overstay fine has been reduced from 100AED to 50AED per day.

The Authority clarified that the fine payment procedures are made online through their electronic services or through the governmental outlets of the country.

The new visa rules came into effect on October 3 following the approval of executive regulations of the Federal Decree-Law on Entry and Residence of Foreigners on April 18.

The new system of entry and residence aims at attracting and retaining global talents and skilled workers from all over the world, boosting the competitiveness and flexibility of the job market and fostering a high sense of stability among UAE residents and families.
