People Are Speaking Up About The Detained American Woman In Dubai And Here Is What They Have To Say
Allen’s detainment in Dubai quickly made colossal waves on social media as it blew up for all the wrong reasons
The focal point of the issue revolves around the biased coverage in the west where it was alleged that the 29-year-old American woman, Tierra Young Allen, was arrested for “merely yelling” in public.
The Dubai Police denied the false allegation and stated that they received an official complaint from the car rental company for her slander against an employee over car rental fees.
Like many angered residents of the Middle East who took to Twitter and Instagram to show their displeasure, Saudi journalist Lama gave a very accurate response to the biased coverage of the matter. She simply stated that if any person, man or woman, is found behaving in an “ill-mannered way in public, then there will be consequences for it”. She added that the news reports coming in from the west “keep changing and don’t add up”.

UAE Twitter users, offended at the incorrect portrayal of the country’s justice system, had a fair share of things to say
Like this American who seemed to wash her hands off her fellow countryman:
I thought the EXACT opposite! Dubai is for me, extremely safe and polite. Honestly some Americans makes the rest of us look like trash!

One user hit the bull’s eye:

A native got down to the little details, and said what everyone’s thinking: ‘We have no no laws that specifically detain a person for “screaming in public”. Yet we do have a Public Morals law, where if you cause anything that would deemed as a “public disturbance” may lead to a fine. ‘
Dubai native here.
Spoke about this a week ago, and it seems more details on this have surfaced since.

Other users agreed to the former statement and added their fair share of thoughts into it:
Excellent response – very well articulated . Living here in Dubai is a privilege, and visiting for tourism is also a privilege- I’ve been living in this city for more than 10 years, and I’ve never seen anyone disrespected. They accept cultural differences and attend to it also-…
