Radio Host Catboy Says His Goodbyes To Dubai In A Heartfelt Tweet
It’s a very Dubai thing to listen to the radio on your way to and from work. And there are some amazing radio shows residents love listening to. One of them is Catboy’s Afternoon show on Dubai 92.
Sadly, on June 5, Catboy announced he was leaving Dubai with his family and moving to London!
He shared a heartfelt message on Twitter that today is his last day in Dubai, aka Wonka’s chocolate factory.
Just woke up on our last day in #Dubai. We’ve seen everybody we need to see. Done the hugs. Reminisced & laughed. Shed the tears. Had those quiet moments of contemplation. And now, as the door closes, I feel like we’re leaving Wonka’s factory. A surreal place, to say the least.

This is truly the end of an era as hundreds of listeners would tune in to his radio show for 18 years
When Catboy announced he would be leaving, residents shared how much they were big fans of his show.
A commenter on his post said “You were the first voice I heard on the radio when I moved here almost 17 yrs ago! Thanks for all the laughs. And to this day we still call that Emirate by BP’s version- Um al Kumal.”
Another person commented saying “Hey catboy! I just wanted to say a huge thank you for being the voice of my childhood. I used to do my school runs with my dad playing your breakfast show – he passed away in 2009 but listening to you always bring up good memories! All the best with your move!”
“I’ve just been in tears on my way home listening to you xx my drive home from work in the afternoons has been so much easier listening to you whilst navigating Hessa St !! You will be missed good luck for new adventures ahead xx” someone else commented.
