The UAE is once again extending a helping hand to those in need, in other countries. While a few countries across the world today are experiencing tragedies including Palestine and Ukraine, others like Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Iraq have also been in a constant battle for decades.

The UAE has always been trying to help the citizens of those countries by condemning violent actions and sending support to those who need it.

The UAE has sent 30 metric tonnes of food and relief supplies to Afghanistan to meet the immediate basic food needs of Afghan people, particularly women and children

The aid comes in response to the exacerbated living conditions in many countries already suffering from a deteriorating humanitarian situation, including Afghanistan

“The UAE continues to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to support the Afghani people. This reflects the leadership’s keenness to strengthen international efforts to achieve peace, stability and prosperity for Afghanistan and its people, and stressing the importance of unifying all efforts towards joint action to address humanitarian challenges in Afghanistan,” Issa Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Afghanistan, said.

The UAE is one of the largest donor countries to help Afghanistan to overcome the crises and disasters it has gone through, whether it be from a natural disaster or war. From September to December 2021, the UAE established a relief airlift of 21 aircraft that carried approximately 500 tonnes of medical supplies and food. They were distributed to more than half a million people, most of whom are women and children.
