Yesterday’s announcement was made during a phone conversation between H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mirjana Spoljaric, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The decision to welcome children from the Gaza Strip for medical treatment and ensure their safe return home is part of the UAE’s ongoing commitment to provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population, with a special focus on children, in response to their challenging humanitarian circumstances.

Sheikh Abdullah and ICRC President emphasized humanitarian aid delivery and crisis response in Gaza
Sheikh Abdullah and Spoljaric underscored the importance of securing the safe and uninterrupted delivery of relief and medical aid to civilians in Gaza. They also highlighted the need to enhance international and regional efforts to strengthen the humanitarian response for those affected by the current crisis.
According to the Ministry of Health in Palestine, since October 7, the ongoing Israeli occupation forces’ aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank has led to 8,382 deaths and over 23,000 injuries.
