The One Billion Meals initiative started just 3 weeks ago, on the first day of Ramadan. 232,000 donors have contributed to the food drive which aims to support those in need across 50 countries.

The latest campaign, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), builds on the success of the 100 Million Meals initiative, which ran during Ramadan last year.

The One Billion Meals has gathered over 420 million meals in just 3 weeks

The campaign had started distributing meals in several countries including Nigeria, Sudan, Albania, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, India, and Kosovo

The One Billion Meals initiative collected AED200 million in donations which is equivalent to 200 million meals, combined with 220 million meals that were collected and distributed last year, bringing the total to 420 million meals, according to Mohammed Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of MBRGI.
