Welcome Back! UAE Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi Is Back On Earth After 6 Months In Space

After an incredible six-month journey among the stars, UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi has returned to Earth, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from his remarkable time in space. His safe return is not just a homecoming; it’s a giant leap for the UAE’s space ambitions, and a high-five to all space enthusiasts out there.

Sultan Al Neyadi spent 186 Days (more than 4,000 hours) in space – his mission is the LONGEST in Arab history!

The SpaceX Dragon Space craft just landed today morning (around 8:17 am) near Tampa off the coast of Florida. The members in the craft are Crew-6 commander Stephen Bowen, pilot Woody Hoburg, cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev and UAE crewmate Sultan Alneyadi.

Moreover, as the second UAE astronaut ever, he achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first to launch from US soil and participate in a long-duration space station mission, where he conducted over 200 experiments.

For instance, his experiments included human cell growth in space, the effects of microgravity on the human heart, and more.

Sultan also hung out in space to connect with UAE residents

Al-Neyadi’s time in space included live calls back home as part of the ‘A Call From Space’ outreach campaign, where he excited schoolchildren across all seven emirates with stories from space and the universe’s wonders.

HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and HH Sheikh Mohammed took to ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter) to express their pride in Sultan’s record breaking trip

HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, president of the UAE said,

@Astro_AlNeyadi, the people of the UAE are immensely proud of you and the entire team for achieving major advances in space exploration. You carried the dreams of a nation to new frontiers, and we celebrate your pioneering journey and safe return.

Similarly, HH Sheikh Mohammed, prime minister of the UAE said,

UAE folks CANNOT wait to welcome the astronaut back home!
