Fashion Foward took place last month and there is also the Arab Fashion Week (AFW) taking place between the 16th and 20th of May. Here are two things that are happening right now that will get you started. There is an illustration masterclass taking place tomorrow, then there is a competition, where you can submit your designs with the chance to have your own collection on display at Arab Fasion Week later this year. 

This weekend there is a workshop taking place by Dubai-based Fashion Designer Deborah Henning, who has her own fashion label called Deborah Henning. 

Also, in partnership with AFW, Lavazza are running the ‘Lavazza Design Competition’, where entrants will be selected to take place in workshops at the event in May, win one winner going forward for an intensive course and mentorship to creating their own collection. The judges, pictured, above will select a winner from the 10 finalists by the end of June.

1. A Fashion Illustration Course by Deborah Henning taking place tomorrow

Fashion Designer Deborah Henning gives a masterclass in fashion drawing – No prior experience necessary. Learn to draw fashion illustrations in 2 hours. You will acquire knowledge on how to illustrate your ideas for a fashion business or simply to try out your own designs. Lavazza Middle East are also running a competition where you can apply to take part in Arab Fashion Week.
