A New Scheme By Etihad Means You Can Pay For An Empty Seat Next To Yours

Avatar

A new scheme launched by Etihad Airways is allowing passengers to purchase empty seats next to theirs, to enhance comfort.

The scheme is part of a goal by Etihad to generate more revenue, and keep ticket prices lower.

Passengers travelling on Etihad will have the option of paying for a ‘neighbour free seat’, effectively buying a place with no one next to them.

Mohammad Al Bulooki, Etihad’s executive vice president commercial, said that by charging additional fees for extra services, the airline can keep base fees: “as low and as competitive as possible.”

Etihad will also be allowing economy passengers access to the business class lounge in Abu Dhabi

But will cost you, at AED920 to access the lounge in AUH Airport.
