This Sophisticated Brunch Offers Breathtaking Views Of The Burj Al Arab (Minus The Crowds)

Zheng He’s, one of Dubai’s timeless favourites, located in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam, has launched a new dining experience inspired by the historical Chinese explorer. Titled “Zheng He’s Voyage Brunch” it offers customers the chance to meet the resident duck-master, Ying Gang Qian or Andy as we like to call him! This brunch promises a total duck immersion and new twists on old classics.

So how does it stack up against the multiple brunches taking place on Jumeirah properties at the weekend? Well we think it does really well at four things which for some people are really important. First of all….

1. Food is served at your table – there is no ‘school dinner queuing’ here

If, like me, you loathe standing in line for something that you’re paying for then Zheng He’s sophisticated brunch is one for you. There is only one station which is the Dim Sum station where you can go and order what you like but the rest of the menu is delivered to your table by extremely knowledgeable and passionate staff. This for me and my plus one is a huge bonus!

2. The Duck Master Is A Joy To Behold

What we loved about the Duck Master was his speed, boy can he twirl a knife! Andy presented some absolutely beautiful food, the duck was beautifully cooked, slightly pink in the middle with lovely crispy skin. If you ‘love’ duck you will adore the craft and care that Andy puts into his craft. You absolutely have to try one of these duck pancakes!

3. The Spectacular View of Mina Al Salam Waterways & The Burj

Zheng He’s was one of the most celebrated Chinese restaurants when it first opened with its imperial interiors and ambiance. They pretty much redefined the Asian fine dining segment with this concept and set a whole new standard for Asian dining in Dubai. Sat on the waterfront during the day watching the gondolas drift past with the Burj in the backdrop makes for one rather fantastic Dubai vista! You immediately feel that you have been transported to an Arabian fairytale. If you want to dine with beautiful views, get ‘that’ Burj shot without the mayhem of the Al Qasr brunch then this location will not disappoint, there is a reason that this restaurant has withstood the test of time and still remains a firm favourite after being on the scene for almost fifteen years!

4. Lots & lots of delicious food!

The portion sizes at this brunch are enormous. We couldn’t manage much of our main courses which was a shame. The Dim Sum and Mango, Mustard prawns were the stand out dishes for us. Maybe because we were full by the mains or maybe because the mains just didn’t feel that special to us. Whatever happens you MUST try these:Mango, mustard Prawns

And the Dim Sum was gorgeous. Little pockets of joy they were beautifully cooked. The Spinach and Mushroom one in particular was our favourite.

What’s the damage?

At AED 495 per person inclusive of grape, house and soft beverages, AED 395 per person inclusive of house water and soft beverages, AED 250 per child aged between 4 to 11 years there is a package to suit all tastes and ages. We felt it was spectacular value for money, generous portion sizes and highly attentive staff mean your glass is never empty and your plate is always full!
