A Dubai Police Officer Has An Astonishing Prediction About Crimes In The UAE

Avatar

A high-ranked Dubai Police officer has predicted a future in the crime statistic in the city over the next few years. According to Khaleej Times, up to 95% (almost ALL) of the crimes here would be committed online.

The cyber-crimes would include issues like individuals’ privacy online, and the police are doing their best to raise awareness within the community about ways for people to prevent this.

The prediction came as part of talk among the police about security challenges that the city could face

…in the following ten years. Brigadier Abdullah Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, director of the Dubai Police’s Future Foresight Centre, also mentioned the risks of online gaming and children’s’ use of it.

A plan has been put in place for people to cooperate with the police and for telecom networks (like du or etisalat) to have the ability to restrain e-crimes: significantly, hacking and blackmail issues.

Projects have also been put in place to use artificial intelligence to aid in the emirate’s safety. The police will help individuals, likely susceptive to e-crimes as such, and advise ways to increase security awareness.
