Are you one of those people who finds a free Wi-Fi connection and agrees to all the terms and conditions under the sun, simply to access the internet?
Well no judgement, you’re not alone. And many of us fall under the risk of cybercriminals accessing our personal information as we’re unaware of the risks simply by connection to an open Wi-Fi network.
Now, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of United Arab Emirates has released a warning to all residents; beware of your personal information when you’re in public.
1) Verify your connection. Ensure you’re not connected to any suspicious networks, some may even connect automatically
2) Do not transfer funds on an open Wi-Fi connection and refrain from checking private data
3) Do not enter your log-on details on an open Wi-Fi connection
4) Have your sharing settings turned off.
It is easy for cybercriminals to access your info. Protect your data from criminals with the above steps.
