Unless you’ve been living under a rock, with no access to Wi-Fi, you’ll know all about the continuing saga of the ‘British Lambo tourist‘.
Farah Hashi rented a yellow Lamborghini Huracan and proceeded to rack up AED170,000 in fines in under FOUR hours after he broke the speed limit fines 33 times. As you do.
After a 16-day stalemate, the driver eventually returned the car and reached a settlement fine price of approximately AED120,000 with Dubai Police.
ON TOP of the original AED170,000 fines amassed by the driver he also kept the Lamborghini for 16 days more than he originally intended.
And the dealership wants to get paid.
According to The National, the SZR located Rent-A-Car outlet is looking for a further AED50,000 in accrued fines.
The owner of the rental car stated “he rented the car for three days and returned it after 16 days. Renting such a vehicle costs AED3,500 per day,” according to the report.
The owner stated he will need to change the colour of the car, after recent media attention means no one wants to rent that particular vehicle.
He confirmed he will take all legal measures to get the money.
