‘Deal Is Dead’: Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan’s UAE Fight Is No More

The vastly reported and anticipated UAE fight supposedly this April between Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao has been called off. Following both boxers announcements last week on a fixed date for the super fight, Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum reportedly announced that the UAE deal is dead. 

“It’s a dead deal. The $38 million dollar offer from the 

Arum told ESPN that the $38 million offer from the Gulf state for Pacquiao to fight Khan seemed too good to be true. 

“When they contacted me, I told them it was pie in the sky, that this is crazy, it’s not going to happen,” Arum said. “Manny wanted to roll the dice. He rolled the dice and it came up snake eyes. If something is too good to be true, it’s too good to be true.”

A Pacquiao-Khan fight could be revisited if…

Arum further added that the “outlandish sum…made no sense,” and that the Khan-Pacquiao fight could be discussed again sometime in the fall, if numbers become more realistic.

Amir Khan won’t be Pacquiao’s next opponent

Arum reportedly also mentioned that Pacquiao’s team is in talks with the boxer to propose another fight, but not with Amir Khan.
