UAE resident Balwinder Sahni has been in the news for several reasons.

First it was because he purchased a single digit number plate for AED 33 million and then his car (identifiable because of that number plate – D5) was parked in a disabled bay. 

The man who uploaded the video of the Rolls Royce parked in the disabled bay has been arrested by Dubai Police

An employee at Aspen Tower, he could face fines ranging anywhere between AED 150,000 and AED 300,000 and up to six months in jail.

Sahni filed a case against the man 

He told Khaleej Times the man’s act was ‘sheer violation of the cyber law’. For those who don’t know, using technology to invade someone else’s privacy or publish news or sharing pictures and videos without consent are all forbidden under the law.

Sahni also stated he wasn’t parked in the bay

He explained that his driver pulled up for less than a minute so they could load the car with some heavy catalogues. However the driver was reprimanded by authorities for stopping the car there. Sahni is in fact very embarrassed with the entire incident as he has always been a safe driver and respectful of RTA rules.
