1,725 people were arrested on Dubai beaches for various reasons in 2017.

289 people were apprehended for taking pictures of women without their knowledge, while a whopping 743 cases were taken against people for ‘disturbing other beachgoers’ according to a report in Gulf News.

256 people were arrested for swimming in their underwear, which is prohibited on Dubai beaches.

Beachgoers are advised by Dubai Police to look after their belongings; while theft cases are not common (just 30 were recorded in 2017) residents and tourists are urged to keep their valuables close.
