The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has taken decisive action against two domestic worker recruitment firms, Shamma Al Mahairi Domestic Workers Services Centre in Dubai and Al Barq Domestic Workers Services Centre in Ajman, for failing to adhere to the ministry’s guidelines. This move underscores the UAE’s commitment to ensuring fair and just treatment for domestic workers within its borders.
In an announcement on social media, the MoHRE revealed that these two recruitment agencies had “committed legal violations.” Consequently, the case has been handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation and necessary action. This step highlights the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting the rights of both workers and employers in the domestic sector.
The MoHRE’s actions don’t stop at the revocation of licenses; they have urged the owners of these agencies to address the status of their workers promptly. Furthermore, the ministry has stressed the importance of fulfilling obligations toward both workers and employers. This includes settling any outstanding fines that were due up to the date of license cancellation. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure justice and fairness in the treatment of domestic workers, aligning with the UAE’s commitment to upholding labor laws.
