Wait, what?
You read that right.
The future is here, and Etisalat’s leading it with a microchip the size of a GRAIN of rice, that will allow people to access all kinds of personal data like their medical history, passwords and more. The concept was revealed at the most recent Gitex Technology Week and is partnered with the Swedish company Biohax International.
The concept will allow for the implanting of microchips in a person’s hand that will then have access to a myriad of data. The telecom provider has even demonstrated the use of the microchip NFC card during the opening week to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance showed interest in cultivating the technology and are in discussion with the Swedish firm to generate it.
It would be inserted just under the skin, in between the index finger and thumb. Sounds scary, but the process of getting it in ones’ system is more straightforward than it sounds, all you’d need is for it to be injected under the skin- same as your usual vaccine shot.
The technology is so advanced it can connect to a broader range of things, allowing the person to be able to open doors or start a car.
Crazy!
Lots of exciting things happening here at the #HealthTech section of @etisalat stand. Super proud to have BrightSign showcased @GITEXTechWeek! pic.twitter.com/S8IMsqAycO
