The Age Limit Has Changed For Drivers In The UAE And It’s Actually Pretty Shocking

A new law has been announced in the UAE allowing youths from the age of 16 to apply for a drivers license.

Families with teenagers will benefit from this decision…

According to Major-General Mohammad Saif Al Zaffin, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council (FTC) and Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Operations who announced the news.

He stated that families use foreign drivers even though they have teenagers who are capable of driving, but they are too young to hold a license.

“Youths at the age of 16 years more mature now than 10 years ago….and there is no justification for not granting them the license”.

The police chief stressed that driving a motorcycle is more dangerous than driving a car

So the licence age for a motorcycle will stay at 17 years.
