Quartet Of Robbers Fined AED264K And Sentenced To Jail
A quartet of robbers attempted to rob their company and colleagues of AED2 million. The money was delivered to the company in order to pay the salaries of the employees.
The quartet were all working within the company, two of them were actually security guards. The security guard was armed with a taser during the robbery.
The security guard led the quartet of robbers and made his way to the accounting department
Once inside the accounting sector of the office, he pulled out his taser and used it again two female accountants. Once they were subdued, he grabbed the bag and left the office. Two of the robbers were standing by the entrance to ensure a swift entry and exit.
However, this plan was not easily carried out. The quartet of robbers faced resistance from another security guard and two other employees. The security guard attacked the robber and grabbed the open bag causing the money to fall onto the ground.
The robbers then grabbed a sum amount of AED300K of the money and made a run for it.
Once the robbers escaped, the security guard who intervened called Dubai Police
Authorities managed to locate the main suspect two days after the attempted robbery took place. They apprehended him at Dubai Airport, as he was attempting to flee the country. Later, they apprehended the other three of the quartet of robbers.
The court discovered that of the AED300K they stole, only AED36K remained. So, authorities fined the robbers AED264K and sentenced them to jail. The two security guards of the group were sentenced to 5 years in jail. The other two employees received a sentence of 3 years for aiding and abetting the robbery.
All 4 of the robbers will be deported after their sentence.
