The Roads and Transport Authority has introduced the implementation of remote monitoring devices in heavy trucks to detect faults.
The introduction of this new device is set to make roads safer as truck driving behaviours will be supervised constantly.
The new rule will be active starting August 1.
Trucker owners are advised to register for the service through either the RTA website or by calling the vehicles safety service on 60056000.
The cost of the service will begin at AED1,620 and have an annual subscription fee of AED500.
