All The Stuff You Need To Know About Your AC Before Summer Sets In

Avatar

As April flies by, the summer heat is slowly setting in, and the air-conditioning is being switched on in houses all over Dubai.

But before you crank that temperature dial (down), there are a few things you need to be aware of – it could save you thousands of dirhams in the long term.

Luckily, the folks at Transguard Living know what they’re talking about and have provided some helpful tips.

Your AC might be in desperate need of a clean

If it’s not cooling how it should, it might be dirty filters and coils (the coils refrigerate the warm air and turn it into cool air), so you should DEFINITELY get the ac checked before the summer months.

Having a clean AC can save you cash

Seriously though, a clean AC can keep your DEWA bills lower. Maintenance on the system and keeping it clean means the system will be operating more efficiently and smoothly and saving your dirhams for the important stuff.

Dubai’s air is three times as dusty as other places

Meaning your AC can get EXTRA clogged up with dust. The dust can get on the coils, AND clog the ducts, which can decrease the system’s effectiveness and end up with really poor air-quality (which can cause hay-fever).

You should really get your ducts cleaned too

Your AC has two coils (The evaporator coil absorbs heat and humidity from your space. The condenser coil is the component of an air conditioning unit responsible for releasing the heat from your home or building to push it outside – both need cleaning twice per year) and the ducts need cleaning too.

Cleaning the ducts will mean better air quality.
