A UAE worker has given an insight into his, and other workers’ lives, with a YouTube video.
Muhammed Imran Hashim, answers most of the frequently asked questions, from preparing for an interview, prospective job and renting options, eating healthy and gearing for a life away from home.
In his videos he shares the life of UAE labourers, while living in shared accommodation in Ajman.
“Today’s episode is about how we all work for different professional positions during the day, but as night falls we all come together and live in oneness.”

Speaking to one of his roommates Muhammed discusses the job market in the UAE. One of his friends, Girja bhai from Nepal mentioned how many people are being laid off, but the promise of being hired, is a light at the end of the tunnel.
“A lot of companies are closing down and people are being laid off in our company as well. But I have to mention, recruiting is going on too, as its the non-productive staff that is being asked to leave,” says Girja bhai.
Suggestions in his videos can help find rental options of up to AED1,500 for a sharing room for five – which is inclusive of electricity charges, most of which are in Ajman.
“Earlier we used to eat at restaurants..but realized that it would get expensive and unhealthy as well, spending about AED600 per head per month. Now we cook at ‘home’ and it costs us just around AED150 per head.”
