Prince Khalid Bin Salman who is the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the US is very active on Twitter and has over 300k followers on the social media site. From time to time he shares pretty interesting stuff and this time he shared an old footage of a young King Salman. The date he chose to share this video coincided with the Saudi National Day.

In the video, King Salman is seen sitting by his father King Abdulaziz who is delivering a speech in the 1938 Hajj. That makes this video almost 80 years old.

Prince Khalid writes in the tweet accompanying the footage “A speech by the founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman may Allah bless him in the 1358 Hajj with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques beside him. May Allah have mercy on the builder and founder of the nation of Arabism and unity, and may Allah protect the one who walked in his path and elevated the country to the highest ranks of glory and honor.”

The speech given by King Abdulaziz in the video is also noteworthy. He says “In this blessed spot, Allah has made his ancient house, and at this honorable spot, God sent the highest of his prophets and messengers, our Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). This is why it is our duty and the duty of all Muslims, especially in this country and in other countries, to share advice in religious matters and show the call to Allah and declare it,”

The video at the time of writing this article has been viewed over 615k times on Twitter alone.
