If you love nothing more than catching rays on Dubai public beaches, well then we have BIG news for you.

Dubai has announced a grand plan which includes renovations and extensions of public beaches to the tune of 400% by 2040.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai approved: ‘Master Plan for Dubai Public Beaches’, which will see the length of the emirate’s public beaches increase by 400% by 2040 & services provided on public beaches increase 300% by 2025.

It features short-term goals like the introduction of night swimming and long term goals like the major redevelopment of Jebel Ali Beach

Love beaches? It’s about to get a whole lot sandier…

Making the most of our coastal location, the total beach area in Dubai will increase from 21km to 105km.

As part of the new Plan, a 4,000-metre cycling track will be added to Al Mamzar public beaches and 9% of its public beaches will be designated for night swimming in 2023.

Jebel Ali Public Beach will be developed and the development of Al Mamzar Public Beach will get underway and while the length of cycling tracks across the emirate will rise by 20%.

Dubai beaches are already globally accredited

Dubai has a total of eight public beaches which feature swimming areas, sandy areas and running tracks. These include public beaches in Khor Al Mamzar, Al Mamzar Corniche, Jumeirah 1, Jumeirah 2, Jumeirah 3, Umm Suqeim 1, Umm Suqeim 2, and Jebel Ali Public Beach. All these public beaches have received the international Blue Flag certification for five consecutive years, which confirms that they maintain compliance with global standards for seawater quality, environmental education, environmental management, public safety, and services.
