That Dubai Shine Brings New Faces From All Over The World

Influencers flocking to Dubai was a headline the world loved to hate.

But they’re not the only ones who were lured by our sunny shores and open-doors policy and now, months after the worst of the pandemic in Dubai, the remarkable shift to welcome the world during COVID is gaining positive momentum.

There’s a buzz about Dubai right now, and residents can feel it.

Gone are the COVID case reports and the repeated negative media slant on Dubai for accepting influencers, while the majority of the world were forced to wear out the pandemic from home, replaced by positivity thanks to a successful vaccination rollout and kudos from international countries for its capacity to remain open. This week, the Wall Street Journey labelled Dubai, ‘the New Casablanca’ as “one of the world cities that stayed open”.

More and more people want to call Dubai a forever home. And though full citizenship for foreigners is not yet possible, UAE governments in different emirates are offering more and more options for residents looking for long-term stay options. This is one factor attributed to a Dubai property market upwards swing, a positive 3-month pattern in Q1 we haven’t seen the likes of in years.

Dubai Land Department recorded a continuous upwards shift for the first quarter in 2021. Dubai also saw the second-highest volume of real estate transactions in Q1 since 2017, with significant growth. A 27% surge in Q1 alone, and 5,683 new investors entering the market in that time period. Incredible!

Content creators, athletes and crypto millionaires are betting on Dubai post-COVID

These are the stories that made headlines, but more and more people are looking to move to Dubai, and their reasons are many.

Numerous influencers jumped ship and settled on Dubai. Amir Khan, a world-famous boxer bought a house here, body-builder Steve Cook and his Aussie girlfriend both left their homes and chose Dubai as a new one, Tom Jauncey, Head of Content at ‘Beautiful Destinations’, and Nas, CEO of ‘Nas Daily’ both moved their businesses to Dubai. The list goes on, of people who love what the city has to offer and are making their home here.

Different avenues are continuously opening up for people to come and live in Dubai. And if you’ve lived here for any stretch of time you’ll know Dubai does not stop. Recent plans outlined by HH Sheikh Mohamed, Ruler of Dubai lay out the blueprint for the next forty years, including more urban areas, focused on economic and recreational activities, with the intention to increase public beach areas by 400%. The new urban plan aims to design life in Dubai, provide the best quality of life and pave the way for the next major residential and economic developments in the city, according to the Ruler.
