AED 1.1 Billion Scholarship Initiative For Students Launched By Sheikh Hamdan
Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum introduces the Hamdan bin Mohammed Academic Scholarship Programme, an AED1.1 billion initiative aimed at backing exceptional Emirati graduates from both public and private schools in Dubai.
With an annual allocation of 100 students, the program will begin accepting applications in April 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic year via the DubaiNow platform. The selection process will adhere to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority’s (KHDA) terms, and the initiative aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, an endeavor by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, supporting top-performing Emirati students in pursuing higher education at prestigious institutions.

The goal is to enhance Dubai’s human capital by investing in diverse higher education platforms, ensuring that the city’s promising students receive advanced education.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of empowering Emiratis through education, expressing the government’s commitment to nurture top achievers who will contribute to Dubai’s development.
This initiative, part of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, recognizes students pursuing academic achievements and personal aspirations. Sheikh Hamdan, confident in their ability to shape Dubai’s future, has been acknowledging the top 25 high school students for the past two years. The new AED1.1 billion program will add 75 scholarships, benefiting 100 outstanding students annually.

In line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the Hamdan bin Mohammed Academic Scholarship Programme aims to achieve two primary strategic goals. Its first objective is to position Dubai among the top 10 cities globally for education quality by 2033.
This well-designed program plays a crucial role in nurturing future leaders who will drive innovation across various sectors, contributing significantly to Dubai’s knowledge-based economy. Moreover, the program is tailored to offer scholarships to esteemed international universities for specialized studies that align with Dubai’s economic needs. This ensures that the scholarships address the priorities of future development in diverse sectors, enhancing the economic participation of citizens.
In doing so, it supports the targets of the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to triple the number of citizens working in the private sector.
