Avatar

A fatal collision involving a pickup truck and a truck has left two men dead and two others severely injured on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, en route to Abu Dhabi. The incident unfolded due to a crucial safety oversight – failure to maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, shed light on the harrowing incident. The Command and Control room was alerted at 5am, signaling a catastrophic traffic accident involving a pickup and a truck.

As per initial findings, the unfortunate event transpired due to the pickup driver’s failure to uphold a safe distance from the vehicles ahead. This critical misjudgment led to a rear-end collision with the truck, resulting in two fatalities and severe injuries upon two others. These injured individuals were swiftly rushed to the hospital for immediate medical care.

In the aftermath of this tragic incident, Brig. bin Suwaidan issued a plea to motorists to adhere to legal speed limits and the maintenance of a safe distance between vehicles

The imperative of responsible driving was further emphasized as he cautioned against improper overtaking, sudden swerving, and distracted driving. The overarching message is clear: consistent compliance with traffic laws and regulations is paramount to safeguard the lives of both road users and properties.

As Dubai mourns the lives lost in this unfortunate accident, it serves as a poignant reminder that every second on the road requires vigilant responsibility.
