UAE Fuel Prices Are Among The LOWEST In The World Despite The Recent Rise
Believe it or not, fuel prices in the UAE are among the lowest when compared to those globally. Yep.
As reported by Khaleej Times, this is mostly because governments in other countries impose taxes on the consumption of fuel, unlike UAE of course.
Compared to the UAE, the Nordic region that includes countries like Norway and Sweden, charges around 250 to 220% higher respectively.
Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, fuel prices are half of those in UAE (Women can now drive AND fuel is cheap? brb moving to KSA).
According to the report, prices in the US are about 25% higher, India is 75%, Singapore is more expensive by 142% and UK is a whopping 156% compared to where we live so technically, UAE has got it A LOT better.
This is because of the low taxes on petrol in the UAE compared to other countries. UAE imposes only five percent value-added tax (VAT) as compared to the 20 percent imposed by UK.
Fuel prices in UAE will continue to rise considering it’s one of the fastest-developing countries in the region.
