Catch the spectacular 46-day Drone Light Show at The Beach
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s actually hundreds of drones! DSF is hosting the longest-running drone show in the Middle East and Africa! It’s already begun on December 16 and it won’t end until January 30, 2020. It’s taking place at The Beach opposite JBR and Bluewaters Island.
This DSF is all about the ARTS all across the city
Say hello to 6 outstandingly talented artists from around the world as they take you on an artistic journey with their interactive installations this DSF. These are no ordinary artworks that you’ll be seeing, oh no, they’ve been exhibited in the longest-running light festival in Amsterdam!
Make note as City Gazing Dubai at DIFC Gate Avenue commences with a tailor-made installation based on the city of Dubai with a unique soundtrack. Then make your way to The Pointe for the Illusion Hole to explore the vortex and see the Talking Heads, which btw respond to each other by conducting entire conversations through light!
Don’t forget to pass by La Mer to race away on Lightbattle X where the strongest cycler will be rewarded with a flood of flight colour. As the battle commences, you can enjoy Rhizome, which will also take you on a journey to help you reflect on our current society with laser shows with sounds.
Of course, the night has to end at Last Exit Al Khawaneek because not only is it fitting, but you could dine by the water and take in the beautiful Infinita which is based on a geometrical form: the tetrahedron, or a pyramid with a triangular ground surface.
Al Seef Market is going all out this DSF with FAB live entertainment
Imagine the traditional sound of the oud with the electric buzz of bass and drums with jazz to create a sonic melody in the mix. Now that’s what the musical performance of NOON is going to be like! DSF this year is putting emphasis on the arts and that’s why DSF and Al Seef is partnering up with Melodica UAE to host concerts that feature students of all ages.
Don’t miss Abood Koko and his merry troupe as they roam the Al Seef market and pay tribute to the heritage and country. And ring in the new year with a special DJ set from local legend, DJ Shef Codes as the Al Seef New Year’s Eve fireworks take over the sky.
