REVEALED: Residents From These 30 Countries DON’T Need To Give A Driving Test In The UAE

Avatar

Getting a UAE driving license is one of the most ridiculously difficult tasks you might undertake in Dubai, second only to finding a perfect place to rent

It’s a COVETED document and even people who don’t live here are aware of that.

Getting the license involves taking an elaborate driving test, driving classes and a theory exam. But, as it turns out, expats from a select few countries can now swap their license issued in their home country with a UAE license. Just like that!

And they DON’T even have to give a test.

Who are these lucky expats, you may ask!

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s website, these are the 30 countries…

1. United Kingdom
2. United States of America
3. France
4. Japan
5. Germany
6. Italy
7. Belgium
8. Netherland
9. Switzerland
10. Denmark
11. Greece
12. Spain
13. Sweden
14. Ireland
15. Norway
16. Turkey
17. Canada
18. Poland
19. South Korea
20. Finland
21. South Africa
22. Australia
23. Romania
24. New Zealand
25. Singapore
26. Hong Kong
27. Austria
28. Slovakia
29. Luxembourg
30. Serbia

According to Khaleej Times, expats from these countries can get a UAE driving license by submitting the following documents:

– A valid original driving licence

– Valid Dubai residence visa

– A completed form of replacement of licence

– NOC from sponsor to replace licence and optometry form accredited by the health authority in the emirate.
