Dubai Police Help A Mom Set Up A Virtual Chat With Her Inmate Son

Dubai Police granted the wish of a mother by helping set up a virtual chat with her inmate son with whom she hasn’t been able to visit since the beginning of the pandemic.

Proven over and over again, the force brought the mother so much happiness by fulfilling her request to communicate with her son who is at the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai

The mother had not been able to visit her son since the beginning of the pandemic

A specialised team from the Department visited the mother’s house and helped her set it up

The mother contacted the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Dubai Police and requested their assistance in setting a virtual meeting with her son as she is not familiar with smart communication apps.

Brigadier Ali Al Shamali, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions at Dubai Police, said that a team from the Department then arranged a visit to her house to ensure she had all the apps and settings installed for future use and ease.

“Dubai Police is keen on providing complete logistical support to inmates and their families so that they remain safely connected per the announced precautionary measures against COVID-19,” he added.

Families can request an online visit through the Dubai Police app

…after which they’ll receive a text message with a link of the specific date and time for the video call. Afterwards, they can go to Dubai Police’s official website and connect to the inmates who would be given the necessary devices to join the call.

The mother and her son expressed their gratitude towards the Dubai Police.
