A GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title, a zero-gravity football game that’s 22,000 ft high with a legend on board, but how did they pull it off?

This September, Mastercard set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the ‘Highest Altitude Game of Football (Soccer) on a Parabolic Flight’, alongside football legend Luis Figo and other football heroes from across the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America for the historic moment.

And it looks seriously cool!

WATCH IT HERE: A multi-disciplinary team of experts from various fields came together to pull off the first-of-its-kind football game, which Luis Figo describes as his most unforgettable experience, since playing football.

“The aircraft must ascend and descend in a trajectory known as parabolas to create 20 seconds of weightlessness with each descending path”

Following the feat, Mastercard highlighted that zero-gravity flights are not consistently zero-gravity. An incredible cross-disciplinary, multi-agency team coordinated to pull off this challenging feat.

And it was non-stop every step of the journey. With gravity coming and going, the teams had to keep playing, and the crew had to keep filming. And finally, to add an extra challenge, there were 15 parabolas (loop-the-loops), so the two teams could float, flip and soar like astronauts while trying to score the ultimate goal.

Simply INCREDIBLE!
