This Incredible New Project Will Make Dubai A GLOBAL Centre For Clean Energy
#Dubai 200 is trending on Twitter tonight and with good reason.
Why is 200 important? Because the city has just committed to reducing Carbon emissions by 214,000 tonnes annually with the help of the AED 1.5 billion Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar plant, the second phase of which was launched today.
HH Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is the driving force behind the project that aims to transform Dubai into a global centre for clean energy. HH was in attendance today and was accompanied by HH Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The new solar park will generate 200megawatts of clean energy ahead of schedule
The second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park was launched today, and it’s easily the largest project of it’s kind in the region. The energy generated is enough to power 50,000 households and therefore reduce the cities carbon emission by over 200,000 tonnes per year.
HH Sheikh Mohammed deemed the event as a national achievement accomplished by the country.
