With New Year’s festivities behind us, you might think it’s time for a breather… but those who’ve been in Dubai a number of years will know that in January, that’s when the fun and excitement REALLY kicks off!
Dubai Shopping Festival has begun and Al Seef has gone above and beyond this year to ensure it’s an absolute MUST on your bucket list this Jan with your fam!
With super fun hands-on activities and DAILY fireworks shows, a fab walkable playhouse for the kiddies, buskers, live entertainment and heaps of fun art installations, here’s everything you need to know…
Don’t miss the outdoor museum, daily fireworks and treasure trove of arty finds
It’s an adventure for all ages at the outdoor museum. Check out the four themed zones; Water, Air, Earth and Fire – it’s a mix of fun plus an opportunity to learn more about the UAE’s rich culture.
Grab a seat at any of Al Seef’s waterfront restaurants, and ensure you’ve got the best spot in the house for the daily fireworks shows – magical!

Art lovers will be mesmerized by a giant cloud floating on Dubai Creek, while the alleys will dazzle with artist takeovers, and art projects, perfect for an evening of wandering.
Live music, finding local talent and Emirati heritage
Expect live music to accompany the art scene, with a mix of contemporary musicians, acoustic electronica, and jazz to hip-hop. A rare sight in the UAE, you’ll also find buskers roaming and live music all evening long.
Putting a spotlight on local talent, there’ll also be masked singers, singalong sessions, stand-up comedy, cultural dance shows, slam poetry and karaoke nights will have microphones working overtime throughout the festival.
For a journey into local Emirati heritage – Al Seef is the place to be, featuring a mystical after-dark showcase of local traditions at Al Seef. The Jalasat Stage will put a dazzling spotlight on folkloric dance and the soothing sounds of the oud, qanoon, violins and guitars against the backdrop of the Dubai Creek.
Coffee, dates, playspaces and heaps more!
Al Seef’s first-ever Coffee Week is here, where you can taste and learn about the bean over tastings and live demonstrations, try your hand at coffee art and master making the perfect cup with brilliant baristas.
Add a date to your cup for the perfect sweet treat! Al Seef will also host a delicious Dates Week so you can sample the sweet palm tree fruits – a staple in Emirati cuisine – YUM!
Finally, there’s heaps of entertainment, you can witness the world at play “Al Seef World of Play Festival” which will highlight the major imprint left upon the city with all forms of international play, art, traditions and flavours.
Visits the Play Space at the Water District or catch the incredible Einstein and Tinkerbell mash-up, JUST as wacky as it sounds, it’s a show for all ages to explore this curiosity-fuelled experience with workshops on music, constellations, the human body, rocket ship.
