Emirates Is Inviting Artists To Design The Skywards Memberships Cards And This Is How You Can Take Part

If you
are (or consider yourself to be) creative and all you’re looking for is a
platform to showcase your talent…Emirates is giving it to you.

Since 2010, the airline’s membership cards have displayed the
works of upcoming artist and this year is no different. All you need to do is create
artwork based on the given theme and you stand a chance to be one of four winners
who will receive USD 6,000 (around AED 22,000) in commission fees and have your work shared
with millions around the globe.

In case you’re wondering how the artwork is shortlisted: an
internal panel decides that based on how well the design meets the brief and
how it will work on the frequent flyer cards.

This year’s theme is ‘unique travel experiences’

The design should capture inspiring travel moments.

Emirates offers flights to over 150 destinations and as a participant of the competition, your challenge is to bring a unique travel experience to life to help inspire travelers to explore these new places and cultures. 

(They’ve thrown in some ideas too: peeking through the clouds from the top of the Himalayas or being mesmerised by the Northern Lights.)

Your artwork can be in one of the following mediums: painting / illustration, photography or digital media, 3D 

The maximum size should be  2.5m x 2.5m including the frame (if you decide to use one). For 3D work (sculpture / glass / ceramic) it should be a maximum of 150kg.

Winning this competition means serious global exposure

In addition to being rewarded with a commission fee of USD 6,000 for your artwork, your design will be showcased on the membership cards and they will be talking about you on their website (that’s a big deal).

Ensure you apply before 24 July 2015 (23:59 GMT) 

Email a photo of your artwork to submissions@emirates-theartoftravel.com, along with a description of how your work meets the brief. The image must be in jpeg format, at least 170 x 288 pixels and no more than 5MB in size.
